Diabetes care and management in Indigenous Populations in Canada: A pan-Canadian Roundtable

Diabetes care and management in Indigenous Populations in Canada: A pan-Canadian Roundtable

The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) will host a pan-Canadian roundtable on diabetes care and management in Indigenous Populations.

In Canada, Indigenous populations continue to carry a disproportionate burden of diabetes and diabetes related complications and face unique barriers accessing appropriate, and effective prevention, treatment, and management programs. The roundtable aims to provide a forum for discussion and shared learning to drive policy change that is informed by Indigenous leaders, and best practices from community-based programs, providing learnings for working with communities to co-develop chronic disease prevention and management programs that meet community needs, promote the well-being of community members, and support improvements in diabetes care and health outcomes for Indigenous populations in Canada.

This project was supported financially by Boehringer Ingelheim Canada Ltd.
